Is Now a good time to take that trip?

How many times have you thought about taking a trip and didn’t do it. Didn’t plan it because either you were either too busy to do the planning, undecided of where to go, or not sure if the timing was right. Did you go?

I have done that, we all have most likely. Lately I can’t stop thinking that the best time to go is NOW. I want to scoop up my family and spend as much time with them as possible. I am always ready for a girls weekend, or a longer trip with friends I rarely get to see. It is always good to get away from our norm, and re-energize ourselves before returning to our routines. This could be 2 weeks across the world or 2 nights within driving distance…they both count!

Last week I snuck away to Nantucket with my mom to visit my aunt and uncle for 2 nights. It was nothing shy of awesome. The crowds were gone, the sun was out (lucky us), the ferry was old, dingy, and perfect.

We had oysters and cocktails at Galley Beach, tried the new Straight Wharf Fish which was awesome, and had a fabulous dinner at Cru. We walked the beach in Madaket and picked up some new treats at the shops in town. It was a vacation… no planning, no planes. 10/10

Next week I head to Chile…I have not been back since 2015! We start in Santiago, head south to Patagonia, and after a few days continue to the island of Chiloé. I will be traveling with Craig, (yay!) and experiencing everything the Tierra Hotel group has to offer… I have been to their hotel in the Atacama desert with my family (pics below), and it was amazing! I will have all the details on the other properties to share when I return.

It is spring down south, fabulous weather for hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, and exploring this insanely beautiful country.

Post Chiloé, Craig leaves and I am heading to Puyehue (mid-country) to attend a conference with other travel planners and many suppliers from across Latin America. I am so excited to learn about all the “secret” gems and amazing guides that I have not discovered yet!! Nothing like planning trips for my clients and knowing exactly whose hands I am putting them in.

My Big Dilemma: I have been really struggling trying to figure out how to go “carry on only”(another whole blog post). For those of you who know me, this seems like an impossible task!! You are probably right, and I should stop thinking about it, check my bag, and enjoy my trip. :)
